Fluff

Definition:

Fluff is a slang term used to describe content that is considered to be trivial, unimportant or lacking in substance. It refers to something that is overly embellished or excessively padded with irrelevant information.

Use case:

Fluff is often used in the context of writing and publishing, where it refers to content that is full of unnecessary details, repetitive phrases, or filler words that do not add any value to the message. For example, if a writer is asked to write a 500-word article on a particular topic, but they only have 300 words of relevant information, they may resort to adding fluff to meet the word count. Fluff can also refer to social interactions, where it describes meaningless small talk or idle chatter that serves no purpose other than to fill the silence.
